Lourmarin

We started Linden and Cherry's birthday in Piraeus, Athens and tonight we're in Provence and Cherry is back home in Devon.

In Martinborough they're picking olives. I had to send John and Helen from Olivo a photo of SOME of the olive oil on sale at one of the Athens airport duty free stores.

We flew to Marseille with Grant and Siobhan, Andrew and Tracey and Pete and Shelley.

We picked up a brand new Peugeot and drove to Lourmarin. We've been here many times before for the Friday market. Tomorrow morning it's on our doorstep.

Lourmarin was the home town of French writer Albert Camus, and British writer Peter Mayle lived near here until his death in 2018. His "Year in Provence" and its sequels put this part of France on the map for many.

We had dinner, with a very pale rosé, in the square below where we are staying and then did a little wander around the village.
